It’s in our ‘Caterpillar Room’ that your two year old child will learn and develop.

Our 2 year old’s have their own room. fully equipped with everything needed for their fast changing needs. The room has the added benefit of an undercover veranda so that your child can freely flow between inside and outside, requiring only a coat in colder weather, to help them begin to develop their independence as they choose where they wish to learn.

All of our children follow the EYFS (Early Years foundation Stage). This curriculum supports their development from birth right through to the end of their Reception Year at school.

What does this mean in the Caterpillar Room?

As well as focusing on the 3 Prime areas of learning (Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication and Language) , we also use the 4 specific areas (mathematical Development, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design and Literacy) to support your 2 year old.

Some of the activities on offer daily are:

Role play, to develop an understanding of the world we live in and to give your child a chance to relive their experiences through play and extend their knowledge further.

Sensory Craft enables your child to express themselves creatively through a variety of media and start on early mark making, developing muscles which will enable the smooth transition to holding a pencil and forming letters and words as they move onto school.

Language Games, we provide small group activities daily to help encourage language wherever possible. Communication is the biggest key to successful social skills and we design activities for specific groups of children to encourage the maximum possible language opportunities.
